What is Awana?

Awana is a Bible-based, Christ-centered program for children. It is an international Bible centered youth ministry club whose primary goal is to teach boys and girls the Gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him.  It includes scripture memory, Biblical principles, games, activities, songs, uniforms, badges and awards. It is a great honor to serve God in this way and to lead children to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

The word AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed and comes from the Bible verse II Timothy 2:15: "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

The Rosedale Awana program runs from September through May and we meet on Sunday nights from 5:30-7:00 pm.

We create a fun and exciting atmosphere to learn in by dividing our meetings into two segments:

  • Game Time: Age-Appropriate and Exciting Games

  • Discipleship Time: Scripture Memory, Small Group Interaction, and a Large Group Bible lesson”

Our program begins with Cubbies for preschool children, Sparks for Kindergarten through Second grade, T&T for Third though Sixth grade, Trek for Middle School and Journey for High School.  Our Awana program is open to all children and youth from any walk of life.
