In 1913, Rosedale Baptist Church began with 22 members and a $115 annual budget. This little white church building sat by the road for 50 years as a beacon of truth and a lighthouse to all who were lost in the storms of life. In 1967 the church moved into its present auditorium and in 1986 the Bertha Mock Minton Education Building was added.
Dr. Don Paxton was called to pastor the church in October of 1995. Under his leadership the church has made several changes. One of the first was for the church to align with the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia in 1996. In 1997, the Deacon ministry transitioned from administrative body to ministry teams. Today the pastor and church are served by teams of Deacons caring for the shut-ins, families and outreach prospects.
Wesley Stringer was called to youth ministry and is entering his 8th year as a full time paid staff member at Rosedale. The church has seen the advent of the Creation Camp programs and the expansion of Vacation Bible School during the past 16 years.
